We obviously celebrated this milestone today with lots of snuggling, playing, a yummy dinner (fancy feast appetizers-WET FOOD!) and a brand-new CATNIP hedgehog toy!  Can you say spoiled?!  She absolutely loves her new hedgehog though....in fact, when I teasingly try to take it away from her, she smacks my hands away with her paws!

This week's topic is your favorite picture of your pet.  When I saw the topic, I instantly knew which picture of Chloe I was going to post. 

This is Chloe when she was only about six weeks old and just a tiny ball of fluff!  She only weighs about 6 pounds now so she's still a pretty small cat but she was just so darn tiny in this pic.  Pretty sure I had this photo blown up and framed.....yep, I'm that kind of pet owner! :)

What I'm Loving Wednesday.....

It's Wednesday again and that means it's time to link up with Jamie for a little WILW fun!

Here's what I'm loving today:

I'm loving that although it is only Wednesday, today is my THURSDAY!  One more day of work and then I have the next FOUR DAYS OFF!!!  This is one EXCITED chica! :)

I'm loving that it is Dr. Seuss week in my classroom!  We have been having all sorts of "Seussical" fun!

I'm loving that I was able to buy a brand-new, never-opened copy of GLEE season 2 on e-bay for $20.  Target is currently selling it for $29.  Can we say bargain shopper?!?!

I'm loving that I get to see my parents and sister this weekend!  We're going to have a blast!

I'm loving Caribou Coffee campfire mochas.  I got one today simply because I decided I deserve one.  Which is exactly what I tell myself entirely too often.....apparently I deserve a lot! ;)

And, as always, I'm loving my friends, family and of course, Miss Chloe!

Dear February,

Can you pretty please hurry up and get here?  The people at Lifetime Fitness are trying to keep their New Year's resolutions to work out and thus making me go cah-razy by dropping off their massive amounts of children in the child center!  If you could just hurry up and get here, enough of them will have failed at keeping their resolutions that life will be back to normal!  Thanks so much! :)

In other news, Chloe got mail today.  Yes, you read that right....the CAT got mail.  Apparently when you're a new customer at Southview Animal Hospital they send you a card with a brochure telling you their info.  Attached to the card was a little catnip toy for Chloe.  She's thrilled!  Here are some pics to prove it:

Also, I realize I didn't post a picture yesterday for "A Year of Photos."  I took it but just forgot to post it!  As a result, you get TWO pics today.  Lucky you.

I found an idea online to make these so we decided to give it a try in Kindergarten.  They turned out super cute!

This is now hanging in my living room!  My roommate bought it on her way home from work yesterday and I love it!  The city is LA.

You Know You're From Minnesota When.....

You measure distance in minutes instead of miles.

In other news, Chloe-cat got her stitches and staples removed today.  She wasn't too pleased to be back at the vet but seemed much happier when she realized she was going home with me.  She was also more than thrilled to be allowed to play in the bathtub again!  Crazy cat LOVES water!

A Flurry of Activity!

Flurry....Get it?  'Cause of all the snow?!?!  Yes, I know.....not funny!

Seriously though, I cannot even begin to describe how busy the past couple weeks have been!  I realize that it's the holidays and it's a given that people will be busy but let me just say.....it's been a crazy couple of weeks!

Last weekend, I came home from babysitting the cutest twins ever to find my kitty had thrown up.  No big deal, this happens from time to time.  I cleaned it up and got ready for bed.  Well it turns out it WAS a big deal.....a VERY big deal.  We were up on the hour for the rest of the night because she was so sick.  By morning, she had vomitted about twenty-five times and once a piece of string came up.  Knowing that this wasn't a good thing, I got ready to take her in to kitty urgent care.  Thankfully, just before I was leaving, Bekah called and caught me and sent me to Innver Grove Heights where there was a vet open (read: cheaper).  The vet said she was dehydrated and that they were going to keep her overnight to monitor her.  I picked her up the next day, paid the hefty fee of $560 and thought to myself "momma's not getting those cute shoes for Christmas afterall!"

We got home and she immediately vomitted again and proceeded to continue vomitting in the middle of the night and twice the next morning.  Back to the vet we went where it was determined that she might have string in her stomach.  For those of you who don't know about cats and string, it's VERY dangerous!  The string acts like a saw and can cut through the intestines and bowel, eventually killing that cat.  Due to the potential string in her tummy, the vet decided to do emergency exploratory surgery.  Two very long hours later, the vet called and said there was indeed string in her tummy and had we not done this surgery, Chloe would have passed away by Christmas!  Instead, I got a Christmas miracle for the low, low price of $1,825.88

Next up, it was off to Christmas in Wisconsin.  This was our first Christmas at my parent's new Bed and Breakfast and it was a lot of fun!  Between shopping, decorating gingerbread houses, playing hide-and-seek (yes, we really did this!) and eating it was a fabulous weekend that ended far too quickly for my tastes!

Now it's time to head back to work, work, work!  I'm a little sad that the holidays are over.  I really feel like they flew by too quickly and I didn't have the chance to enjoy them as much as I would have liked.  But as the saying goes, "there's always next year!"
