Glee-Cap

Okay so wow, it's been a busy few days!  I wanted to review the Glee concert I went to last week, but then it was the last week of school and the kids were cra-to-the-zy and before I knew it, over a week had past and I STILL had not posted a Glee-Cap!  Whew!  How was that for a run-on sentence?  Anyway, let's talk a little Glee Live!

So I got out of work early (woop! woop!) and took the lightrail downtown.  Let me take a second to remind you that I am a straight-out-of-suburbia kinda girl.  Have I ridden the lightrail before?  Absolutely!  Have I ridden it by myself?  HELL-TO-THE-NO!  I was a bit nervous!  I mean, what if I got mugged?  Or worse, missed my stop?!  Fortunately, other than having to wait for the next train (one pulled out of the station as I was walking up), I made it downtown with no mishaps! 

We decided to eat outside at a little restaurant/bar called Gluecks.  It was literally right outside of the Target Center which made for some very interesting people watching!  We quickly realized that we were going to be on the slightly older side of the crowd and proceeded to participate in happy hour full-force!  Don't judge, you would have too!  After a few drinks and dinner, we headed across the street for the show.

Our seats were incredibly disappointing.  I had known that we didn't have the best seats (we went for CHEAP!) but what I didn't realize was that there would only be ONE ROW behind us.  Still, we figured that with the screens, we'd be able to see just fine.  Well....that wasn't the case.  Unfortunately, the screens weren't the greatest.  Despite this, the concert was AWESOME!!!  It was so cool to be able to see the songs performed live (or mostly live....with some of the dancing that was going on, there is just no way it was live!). 

One of the most disappointing parts was that I had heard that Lea Michele was supposed to sing "Don't Rain On My Parade."  This is one of my absolute favorite songs and unfortunately, she didn't sing it.  Not sure why.  Other songs included in the show were:

Then.......the lights went on and I was sad that it was over.  But it wasn't!  The encore was probably the best part!  Chris Colfer did "Single Ladies" (which was so great!), the boys did "Friday" and Kevin McHale did "Safety Dance."  At that point, my roommate says, "he can walk?!?!"  Priceless.....pure gold!

Finally they finished with "Empire State of Mind" and my personal favorite, "Someone to Love."  Overall, the show was shorter than I expected but awesome!!!  I would totally go again, although next year, I'll spend the money to get better seats.

I'm full of GLEE!

Why you may ask?  Because in one short day, I will be attending the GLEE concert! 

I'm not sure if you can tell but I'm a little excited!  Any TV show that combines a good storyline with AWESOME music (including songs from musicals) is a perfect fit for me!  I'm curious to see what songs they'll go with for the live show.  Here's what I'm hoping for:

What I'm Loving Wednesday.....

Last night's episode of Glee!  I didn't get a chance to watch it until today since I work Tuesday nights but it was well worth the wait!  The original songs were awesome!

This glorious weather.  It is supposed to get to 52 degrees today and I. AM. THRILLED!!!  Now if it could only stay like this!

The new Essie nail polish that I bought at Target last night.  I went in looking for the color Emily wore on The Bachelor after falling in love with it on Monday night.  Apparently I was not the only one who fell in love with it though....it was sold out!  I settled for the color 'ballet slippers' and I think I love it just as much!

That I made plans with my friend Katie this weekend!  I seriously have not seen this girl since the beginning of December and that is entirely too long!  Her birthday was back in January and we STILL have not had a chance to celebrate!

What I'm Loving Wednesday.....

I'm loving that although it is only Wednesday, today is my THURSDAY!  One more day of work and then I have the next FOUR DAYS OFF!!!  This is one EXCITED chica! :)

I'm loving that it is Dr. Seuss week in my classroom!  We have been having all sorts of "Seussical" fun!

I'm loving that I was able to buy a brand-new, never-opened copy of GLEE season 2 on e-bay for $20.  Target is currently selling it for $29.  Can we say bargain shopper?!?!

I'm loving that I get to see my parents and sister this weekend!  We're going to have a blast!

I'm loving Caribou Coffee campfire mochas.  I got one today simply because I decided I deserve one.  Which is exactly what I tell myself entirely too often.....apparently I deserve a lot! ;)

And, as always, I'm loving my friends, family and of course, Miss Chloe!

What Can You Get For $3.50?

A small coffee from Caribou, a pair of flip-flops, a meal at McDonalds, shampoo, earrings, a book, a cheap drink and.....wait for it..... 

ONE GALLON OF GAS!

While driving home from work tonight, I about ran off the road in shock when I saw the price of gas!  Seriously?!?!  I mean I know we export oil from Libya and with everything that's going on over there it makes sense, but $3.50?!?!  I'm going to have to start walking to work!

In other news, I've been incredibly busy!  My sister came to stay with me last weekend and despite it being a quick and busy weekend, we had a lot of fun.  I'm also thrilled to say that I managed to score GLEE tickets for the show in June!  I.AM.SO.EXCITED!!!!  :)

What I'm Loving Wednesday.....

Can you believe it's already Wednesday again?!  This week seems to be flying by which is just fine with me!  Linking up again with Jamie for a little WILW fun!



I'm lovin' that it is already Wednesday and we are this much closer to the weekend!  My baby sister is coming to visit and I. AM. EXCITED!  We always have so much fun!

I'm lovin' GLEE!!!  Okay ya'll, I just recently became a Gleek and can I just say, I am addicted!!  This show is absolutely amazing!  I love the music, I love the people, I simply love the show.  Did I mention that Glee tickets go on sale TOMORROW for their show in June?  Pretty sure this is one girl that will be hittin' up ticketmaster tomorrow around 10am!

Speaking of Glee....

I'm lovin' the song "Defying Gravity" from season 1, episode 9.  Seriously, can't get this song outta my head which is just fine because I love the lyrics and it's such a beautiful song.

I'm lovin' this spring-like weather!  Today it hit 47 degrees, which for February in Minnesota is practically a heat-wave!

I'm lovin' chocolate chip cheesecake!  I made some on Monday night for the roomie and I and it is delicious!

I'm lovin' GIRL SCOUT COOKIES!!!  The little ladies in my class are hard at working selling them and who am I to deny that?  Pretty sure I bought from ALL FIVE girls in my class!  The Thin Mints and Tagalongs are my absolute favs!

    

I'm STILL lovin' that I won Deanna Jump's units.  Seriously, I cannot get past this!  The units are supposed to arrive in the mail sometime in the next week and I may or may not be anxiously checking the mailbox! :)
